So, in past years, I have celebrated All Saints month by telling the internet and social media about all Saints that I know (or doing my best to). The goal has always been to celebrate the communion of saints in a whole month.
But who wants to hear what I think about the saints? Hearing my own voice gets annoying. So, instead, I propose a social media/internet challenge: Tell me what you think about the saints.
All you have to do is answer 3 questions in a video, comment, written document, or if you know me you can track me down in person. Also, I plan on posting these here, so if you don't want it posted, please tell me:
1. Tell me about the life of a Saint (canonized or not) that inspires you.
2. Why does this Saint inspire you?
You can do it, your friends can do it, I don't care. Spread the word. We all have saints who have inspired us, and why not share their stories? This way we can learn from each others' stories. In the beginning, while I collect data, I will still tell you about some of the cool Canonized Saints, but as we go on, I'll also post things about what you guys say about the saints. After all, what better learn about the Saints then to hear from your fellow saints-in-the-making?
I'll see if this works. I hope it does, and I pray through the intercession of St. Joseph the Worker that this does work, because the communion of saints is a living and breathing community. The saints aren't just people who lived long ago.
And why St. Joseph the worker? Well...that's a story I'll tell you tomorrow.
