The Holy Spirit and Saints

Happy Pentecost Everyone!  Veni Sancte Spiritus!

It is the feast of the coming of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit that gives life, and the Spirit that makes saints.
In the 2nd reading today, Paul says that "No one can say 'Jesus is Lord' except by the Holy Spirit" (1Cor).  The saints are saints because they give witness to Jesus.  The saints, with their lives, not only say but shout "Jesus is Lord".  As Paul said, that is impossible without the Holy Spirit.

So Happy Pentecost!  I pray that for everyone reading this, the Holy Spirit may enkindle in you the fire needed to become Saints.  Veni Sancte Spiritus!

Alright, I realize this is June 4th, and not May.  I haven't kept up with All Saints Month as much, but I'm actually still in Europe, and still doing some Sainting.  (I saw the grave of Bl. Frederik Ozanam yesterday.  More about him later). After Sainting for three weeks, I have too much material to fit into just one month.

I'm thinking that after I get back to the USA, I can keep this blog up as a permanent thing.  I'll post things once a week, For now I'll say every Monday I'll do a saints post on this blog.  If that's cool with you all its cool with me.

My profile description tells me that I love saints, and that couldn't be more true.  So writing about them full time would be great, and this seems like the perfect opportunity.  I'll still be asking for your contributions if you have any, or if you have requests for me to look up a saint, I am more than happy to take any requests.

Thanks everyone and Happy Birthday to the Communion of Saints!
